Dr. Preesan Rakwatin

Dr. Preesan Rakwatin is the Vice President of Digital Agriculture Development and Promotion of Thailand Digital Economy Promotion Agency. His key responsibilities including preparation of digital economy strategy; to promote and support the digital agriculture industry and innovation; to support and implement human resource development for the industry and to accelerate law amendment or adjustment of regulations in relation to the intellectual property protection of digital agriculture industry and innovation. Dr. Preesan holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo with a Master of Engineering in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems from Asian Institute of Technology. He started his career as a lecturer in Kasetsart University in 2002 and was a researcher to Asian Center for Research on Remote Sensing and Earth Observation Research Centre. Prior to his current attachment, Dr. Preesan served the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GSTDA) as researcher, focused on development of an operation agriculture monitoring system in Thailand and Laos.
